In general, higher is better. The CW1 is designed to be most effective mounted above 4–5m. If you can't mount that high, the antenna will still function but with a reduced field of effect — see our installation course for plot-specific guidance.

The underlying physics (atmospheric potential difference) is well documented, and there's a long history of anecdotal and small-scale trial results. Large modern controlled studies are still limited, so we treat it as a genuine, low-risk input worth trying rather than a proven substitute for good soil health and growing practice. Read more in our education guide.

Orientation matters less than height and grounding, but where possible we recommend positioning away from tall structures or trees that could shield the antenna from open sky.

We recommend a minimum of 30–45cm in most soil types, deeper in sandy or very dry soil where conductivity is lower. Full detail is covered in the installation course.

Any tall conductive object carries some risk during electrical storms. We recommend standard precautions: avoid mounting near the highest point on your property, and disconnect or lower antennas during severe storm warnings if practical.

UK orders typically ship within 2–3 working days and arrive within a week. You'll receive tracking information by email as soon as your order dispatches.

Currently we ship within the UK. An EU-facing store is planned — get in touch if you'd like to be notified when that launches.

Unused equipment in original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, minus original shipping cost. Training course access is non-refundable once course materials have been accessed.
